Re: error bad file format

Hey everyone,

When this happens, please provide the ID of the video that you submit before removing it. Copy the link (e.g. http://stagevu.com/video/abcdefghijkl) and post it here. Otherwise, we cannot diagnose the problem very well.

Re: error bad file format

Hm, this is really strange. The video actually encoded perfectly fine. Thank you for providing the link, and we'll look into this.

Update: we have fixed the problem, at least for now. Tell us if it happens again.

Re: error bad file format

Our logs actually got cleared just yesterday, so we couldn't diagnose the problem. However, if it happens again, please post the link here, and we'll be sure to look into it once again.

Re: error bad file format

http://stagevu.com/video/ifoqztkghzwa  404 error The Video appears to have been removed from the server. This is the 2nd time I've uploaded this video. The first was no problem. I simply wanted to put it in a different category (it's a TV video). Is there a way to put a file in 2 categories?

Re: error bad file format

This is rather strange, as the videos encoded properly as far as we know. We will look into this. Thanks for the report.

Re: error bad file format

Hey everyone,

Thanks for being so helpful with the reporting. We have finally (yeah, sorry, it took a long time) identified the problem that caused this, and have fixed it. Of course, we also corrected a few other bugs on the way, but all for the better, isn't it?

Anyways, although this time, we're almost 100% sure that it's fixed, please tell us if the problem persists with further posts in this thread.

Re: error bad file format

Hi, I had this error with a video the other day, but I just uploaded it again and it encoded fine the second time. No problem.

The thing is that just yesterday I uploaded a bunch of new videos that all returned the same error. Considering that these were all videos found on the net (from Series Gringas and URL uploaded from Megaupload), there may indeed be something wrong with the videos themselves, but given that this happened before with another video and it seemed to work fine the second time, I just wanted to check with Stagevu first to see if there might be some problem on their side.

I'll leave the videos up for a while so you can have a look at them. If they're lost for good, just let me know, and I'll try uploading them again.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Re: error bad file format

These files were all actually in the wrong format, likely because the link expired or some similar reason.

Re: error bad file format

Thanks for the prompt reply, Administrator. I'll try uploading again and see if I have better luck the second time around.

Re: error bad file format

That is not the URL it is just a link for the page, you will find the URL in the Premium or Regular button, mouse over and copy link then paste to upload page.  Be quick as URL link is time sensitive.

Re: error bad file format

I've had this 'bad file format' for EVERYTHING I've posted, then it works fine on re-posting. Huge pain in the ass. Is this the new norm for uploading to stagevu?
