I get only sound, or only video, or my browser crashes when playing videos

Symptoms

  • You only hear audio (sound) and see a blank screen.
  • You only see video and can hear no sound.
  • Your browser crashes when viewing a video, or after leaving a page with the DivX Plus Web Player.

If you experience any of the above issues, the problem most likely lies with the DivX Plus Web Player. Visit the official DivX website and try playing the video there. If it doesn't work, it's a DivX Web Player problem.

We recommend that you try:

  1. Opening the video in a different browser. It may be simply due to browser compatibility.
  2. Reinstalling the player, making sure that all web browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox) are closed at that time.
  3. If that still doesn't work, follow these instructions to revert to an older version of the DivX Plus Web Player.

If you are still having problems after that, unfortunately, we can do no more to help you. The DivX Plus Web Player does have some bugs, and these are outside of our control. You may want to instead try downloading the videos and watching them locally.
