I've seen both "Nowhere" and "The Doom Generation" - hated the first, but really liked the latter. Agreed on the casting of Duval; haven't seen him in anything the last years though. I saw "The Living End" a few years back. Typical Araki, but nothing special for me - I don't consider it from his best works, it was rather amateurish. My second favorite film of his, after "Mysterious Skin" is "Splendor." A film of his I have trouble finding is "Totally F***ed Up" - have you seen it? Found "The Living End" yet?
And I completely agree with you on what you said about "Mysterious Skin" - the events of our childhood definitely stay with us as we grow older. And well, Joseph Gordon-Levitt in that movie adds a lot to why I love it!
i'm trying to think of other movies to recommend to you that are like TD&DJ but there's nothing quite like it really.
so glad you're enjoying the upload, yeah, it's a really great documentary, i couldn't tell you how many times i've seen it.... 20? 30? i even made some youtube videos out of it. also check out my youtube channel if you like to share music i have some good tracks on there.
looking forward to checking out your future favourites. great to meet you. bye
it's fascinating isn't it? i relate to him quite a bit but hopefully i'm a little bit more stable than he is, lol.
that's awesome you made use of the upload. love to share these kinds of things.
And yes, I've seen "Mysterious Skin" - I've read the book too. And love both to no end. I love the cast in it and consider Gregg Araki one of the best gay directors of all times (next to Gus Van Sant and Fassbinder.) You love "Mysterious Skin" as well? What do you like about it?
