I think that there is a certain bitrate that stagevu can handle and 1080 is over that, I think. I never usually check to see if its 1080, as most anime is either 480 or 720 and that is good enough. Check the forums or the help pages, I am pretty sure I have seen something written about this there.

I am not sure. The group I use is only halfway done with subbing it. It is completed, I think, if you search for the torrents or DDL I am sure you can find them online.
