I believe that life, in all of its torment and torture, not only imitates art, but serves as its inspiration, which in turn feeds the torment to new heights. This may sound like a pessimistic view on life, but when you stop to think about it, it makes sense. No matter what you achieve, no matter how much you earn, how many people you bed, how much knowledge you amass, in the end, you are dust. Life is a board game, and we're all just pieces waiting to be moved to the next square. But in the game of life, there are no winners, only losers, ultimately. It's not a question of IF you will lose, but just a matter of WHEN you will lose. And that, sad as it may seem, is the cold, hard truth. Accept it, and you'll live easier... until the end is upon you. Disaster movies, which I've always found comforting, try to impart wisdom. Sci-Fi and horror try to hide the truth from us, thinly veiled as fantasy. So for now, we'll exist with what we deem gives us strength to move from one day to the next. And so it goes. Less
