I am convinced Film should be a mandatory subject in school, introduced as early as possible.

Tips:
❥ If you don't know where to start, read a book like "Film - A Critical Introduction" (http://bit.ly/cV3jSx) or "The Art of Watching Films". It'll change the way you perceive films.

❥ Look at film history. Don't snub silent films- there are some real gems out there that have influenced cinema immensely. At first, producers were convinced that close-ups wouldn't work! And what would soap operas be without them.

❥ Give some love to the editors. Sometimes editors can make or break a film. A great film to watch on this subject is "THE CUTTING EDGE: the magic of movie editing". It's on youtube.

❥ Finally, everyone go see Sansho Dayu.

As I was about to ask you where that "advanced" section is, I found it out. How could you even notice such a detail? Amazing!

I typed in "Claire Denis," 35 rhums didn't show up, but Vendredi Soir did, which I watched on Youtube and has been taken away. I couldn't find 35 rhums until typing its French title in advanced search! Wow! Thank you. I am going to do more experiments later.

I have a sense of contentment as if sharing a secret that no one else knows.

I watched Vendredi Soir last week, and, again, was impressed by its uniqueness. I have also been trying to download 35 rhums from an online site for days, yet the progress so far is disappointing. Do you have any clue where I might see it?
