I know :) but here’s what I do on lmwt. I go to advanced search and search by director. You’d be surprised.

Glad you liked Beau Travail! I think 35 Rhums is also up somewhere.

Have you seen Blame It On Fidel? It’s a film by Costa-Gavras’ daughter (as we’re on the subject of female directors), and it’s a fantastic look at communism through a child’s POV. ms.disorderly has uploaded it.

Yes, sometime this week I can upload Denis’ Beau Travail if you want.

I didn't really like After the Wedding all that much, too many close-ups made it look like a long commercial. I haven't seen Open Hearts yet. I prefer Claire Denis and Catherine Breillat, oh and Lucile H.. (I forget her entire name!), Gaspar Noe's wife, when it comes to female directors.

Moodyson has a couple other films I like, Lilja4ever and Fucking Amal. Lilja4ever might be too violent for you, but the latter is a coming-of-age story, very entertaining.

OK get ready cause I am uploading a must-see South Korean film, full of profanity and violence. I hope it makes it this time, it's about 1 Gb and keeps failing to upload.

Whenever somebody starts preaching to me, I find it funny, and that’s what Haneke is doing. He’s not in the film per se, but you can hear the voice of the auteur :)

He’s saying (yelling?) we’re so screwed up we got ourselves in this mess in the first place. Bam! TV splattered with blood. Funny.

I don’t know about anything else, but you should watch all Haneke’s ever made... As a cinema fan, you’ll like it. If you’re very sensitive, you might want to take a step outside of your brain while you watch the film.

Haneke is wonderful as a philosopher in cinema, he has a lot of films that I can’t judge like I do others- there’s always a meta-narrative, a hidden agenda with this director. Like Socrates he makes people think about things they take for granted, by asking them simple questions that go beyond the screen. You’ll leave his films a broken, but better person. I may be a bit sadistic but I found Funny Games quite funny you know, as it’s outdated in blaming things like TV for all the violence in the world.

Yeah I left a note in the comments for the last two vids I uploaded, I used different software and you can only see the subs if you DL and watch in iTunes, Quicktime, or other native mac apps. Sorry, I hadn’t noticed it before. I’ll go back to the old one :)

It’s so strange this comments system, there isn’t an option to receive alerts as far as I know.

Thanks for the tip. I watched both Bande a Part and A Bout de Souffle, I have to say the latter was better. I see Bande a Part as more of an experiment in pastiche cinematography, but A Bout de Souffle does in fact leave you breathless with its originality.
