Robert S. (STRANGE) McNamara was a power hungry nerd. His entire life he sought nothing but recognition for his opinions. He was promised this recognition by President Kennedy, because no person leaves a job making millions of dollars for the Ford Motor Co. to take on a government job. When he took charge of the defense of this country, he screwed it up totally. You see, McNamara knew that it was President Kennedy's intentions of withdrawing our troops out of Vietnam, but yet McNamara recommended they stay and even be escalated after JFK's death. Hence, POWER. cya...jb
