ok i looked it up again my numbers were off...

#800 total and #100 for the new show will be in season 7 (2012) and the 42nd episode for Matt Smith will be the Christmas episode for 2012 then the big year 2013, November 23 will be the 50th anniversary.

The number 42 is a big thing in Doctor Who, the 1st Dr had 42 Episodes in his 1st season, the 4th Dr had 42 Stories, and the 7th Dr has 42 episodes total.
Douglas Addams (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy where we learn that the answer to the ultimate question of Live, The Universe and Everything is 42) wrote Shada and was a script consultant or editor or something like that for most of the 4th Dr's time. Lets not forget about the (new)3rd season episode simply called '42'

I saw your note on Klar's page, you better get working on it, there were more than 700 (1/2 hour) episodes in the original series, then the new series is over 80 atm.

and don't forget about the confidentials for each of the new episodes (a special making of episode for each show) then there is the Sarah Jane Adventures for the kids and Torchwood is the NC-17 version (tasetful nudity and very bad language)

2013 is not only gonna have the 50th annv but it will also mark the 100th episode of the new shows and the 800th of all time gonna be a big year for Whovians
