omg - she was a bitch, the aerial fights can never be reproduced, he had to kill his brother. This film actually had me on the edge of my seat. What a great surprise. I have to say it again - TexasDude is godlike
get blowed.
Hughes didn't give a shite....
~ film cost: $3.8 million, the most expensive film of it's time.
~ for every foot of film used 249 ft were shot.
~ the film was shot twice, once as a silent film, without a soundtrack in 1928. sound equipment became available resulting in the second shoot as a talkie.
~ Jean Harlow was cast for the second filming in place of Greta Nissen.
~ most of the pilots were WWI aces.
~ during shooting three pilots were killed and pilots refused to fly an aerial sequence that Howard Hughes eventually flew himself. he crashed the plane, but sequence was successful.
yada, yada...
