A 4-day Tech & Music Fest held Memorial Day weekend May, 1983, San Bernadino, CA. Part 1 covers May 30 "Rock Day," featuring Pretenders, Berlin & U2. The daily high temps. reached 108 degrees, there were 2 reported deaths & several ODs. This event was sponsored & bankrolled by Steve Wozniak, formerly of Apple Computers. Wozniak invested heavily in event, and lost big-time @ nearly $20 mil. over 2 years, in spite of the massive-greater than expected numbers attending. He paid for the bulldozing and construction of new open-air field venue & construction of a massive state-of-art temporary stage at Glen Helen Regional Park near Devore, San Bernardino. The site became Blockbuster Pavillion, and later, the San Manuel Ampitheater, which, as of 2007, is the largest Ampitheater in the U.S.

Monday, May 30 (Rock Day): Los Lobos, Little Steven & Disciples of Soul, Berlin, Quarterflash, U2, Missing Persons, Pretenders, Joe Walsh, Stevie Nicks, David Bowie.
Tuesday was "Country Day"
