Al though this movie was fictional, it was a powerful and insightful. Abusive people always act up more during the holidays. It was the love of her children that gave Della the strength she needed and it kept her alive and fighting for her own life. Anyone who is being abused this is another movie that will give you the courage to GET OUT! If not for yourself do it for your children. To those who have been abused and did GET OUT alive you should be able to relate to this movie. No one deserves to be abused (all types) and there's NEVER any excuse for it! The typical and famous lines from abusive people (male or female), "Look what you made me do!" or "You made me do that!" I was happy to see that she did not fall while running. I dislike movies that make women fall while they are running. Also, she (Della) was not wearing boots or shoes with heels. Ms. Basinger, I thank you for this movie.
