I suppose it is the nature of the coffee trade to be opressive. The absolute worse job I ever had was working for Starbucks coffee in one of their roasting plants as a roasting machine operator. They treat people worse than cattle are treated. They make the underground coal operators in West Virginia look like Mother Theressa. I worked underground in the mines for a decade. The best roasted coffee and the best employer in that business is Eight Oclock coffee. They have been in business for over 150 years. You don't ever hear much about them. I have never heard anything bad about them. There are also some very good locally roasted coffees. The best around Midlands SC is Three Bean Coffee in Lexington,SC....
