Haha, I guess it certainly was just about bashing religion. While I agree with him (though as stated earlier I have both Christian and Muslim friends), it would still have been nice to have seen someone religious of real, cold intellect in the film - then again, I don't really know the credentials of all the people interviewed and perhaps anyone will be reduced to a stuttering moron when trying to defend logically, intellectually how he can believe so much of the things that seem to be... well, ridiculous.

LOL @ that fat ex-jew for jesus guy when Maher asks why don't you kill yourself and he takes a long pause before answering "because I still have a mission". Isn't suicide considered a sin? Seems simpler to just instantly answer that. It's interesting, he seemed like he was lying and making things up as he went along - I don't know how to articulate it, but I have nothing against religious people, it's just weird how often many of them seem unacquainted with even the Bible or why they believe what they do; they just get angry like the fat trailer guy, or spout ridiculous nonsense made up on the spot. Haven't watched it through yet, but I'm hoping he interviews a truly intelligent religious person in the coming segments, which I'm sure he will as he's a smart guy and probably realizes that no one is that interested in watching him make fun of religious nuts for 90 minutes.
