As of 2010 December 05, the listing for this is incorrect: Doctor Who- Season 1 Ep2 -The End of the World (FR subs). Doctor Who, first broadcast November 23, 1963, is the longest running science fiction series broadcast in the world (31+ years and 756 episodes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_who), beating Stargate SG-1 which first aired July 27, 1997 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_longest_running_United_States_television_series). [Meet the Press is the longest running tv show in the world with 63 years since November 6, 1947, beating 60 Minutes which first aired 1968.] The reason why Doctor Who has so many seasons is because in the story, he is a Time Lord and as such can regenerate twelve times, for a total of thirteen incarnations. I have even read on some fansites supposedly his last incarnation would be Merlin of Arthurian legend. He retains the memories and experiences of his previous incarnations, and to date has regenerated 10 times. currently, th 11th Doctor
