There are 23 Wall Streets in the UK. Cutting Edge steps beyond the news headlines and into the front rooms of our Wall Street residents, revealing an eccentric, funny and ultimately uplifting portrait of a changing Britain. The film follows the fortunes of characters such as unemployed Wolverhampton Wall Streeter Ali Khan, who's desperately looking for a job to support his wife and two children. Grimsby's Paul Hirst may have lost his pub, but he's still clinging on to his extensive Star Wars memorabilia collection - his spendthrift values haven't changed, even though the world around him has. Frank Clark's 'recession, what recession?' mantra sees him defying plunging national car sales. Ebbw Vale Wall Streeters karaoke-loving newlyweds Lisa and Clayton remain resolutely upbeat under the cloud of possible future redundancy. My Wall Street is an intimate and affectionate portrait of the remarkable adaptability of these very British families, each finding its own way to survive in troubled economic times.
