In the 1920's archeologist on a dig at the Giza Plateau in Egypt discover an ancient cover stone, ...In the 1920's archeologist on a dig at the Giza Plateau in Egypt discover an ancient cover stone, beneath it they uncover a device of unknown origin made of a material not found on Earth. The device is ringed with symbols that are undecipherable for decades untill a Linquest named Dr. Daniel Jackson discovers the synbols to be star constellations. Eventually the scientist are able to confirm their hunch that the device, which they have determined to be called a Stargate, is some sort of intergalactic transportation device at which point the program gets turned over to military control. In an attempt to determin the Stargates origin and if it poses any significant threat to Earth a military team is ordered to utilize the Stargate and travel to the address deciphered from the cover stone. Their mission is to ascess the situation, once on the other side, and if any danger is found to destoy the Stargate. What they discover will forever change Humankinds views on the heavens above us and our place in the Universe. Starring: Kurt Russell, James Spader and Viveca Lindfors.
