One thing is in all cases proven about Nostradamus.It is possible to interpret his prophecies almost how you want, and that the same pieces are used as a prediction of a variety of events.
It has also been shown that no one so far, has been able to predict an event with help by Nostradamus texts. They have instead been used to look for suitable text passages that can be interpreted as a description of an event that have already occurred.
It is the human fascination of doomsday thinking that created an attraction to his prophecies.
I think he could write pieces that fits into many contexts. A good manipulator with words and phrases.
