Gino manages to survive the battle, while Anya isn't present. His position secure, Lelouch announces his intention to join the UFN. However, when they reject him, Lelouch has Suzaku take the UFN leaders hostage and has the Britannian forces surround Japan, intending to unite the world under his rule instead. During the commotion, the Britannian capital is destroyed by Schenizel, who is aboard his new flying fortress, the Damocles. He reveals to lelouch that Nunnally is alive, and she declares herself to be Lelouch's enemy.
