...Man of the World was a British 20-episode ITC series produced by Harry Fine, starring American Craig Stevens (Peter Gunn) as Michael Strait, a high-flying photo-journalist.
This episode (#8 in production order) is special: Stevens barely appears in it since at the onset Strait is arrested in Cuba for photographing something he shouldn't.
Desperate, his assistant Maggie calls for the help of an Argentine with offices in London and Panama, and connections with the Cuban regime.
Thus, the sophisticated, handsome, suave and debonair character of businessman Carlos Barella, played by Argentine actor Carlos Thompson, is introduced.
With the help of another American photographer (British superbabe Shirley Eaton) Barella not only gets Strait out, but also rescues a fellow Argentine from the Cubans.
The character was so impressive that Fine launched a brief series (13 episodes) narrating further Barella's adventures around the world. In those, Barella was accompanied by the legendary Burt Kwouk.
B&W, 49 minutes, no subtitles.
Trivia: In the closing titles, the name is (mis) spelled Borella.
