He pulls himself along painfully, hands tied behind his back with his own bootlaces, until he is discovered by a 10-year-old South Korean boy. He dubs the boy Short Round, and the two eventually hook up with an infantry squad. The squad is a group of misfits: a black medic, a World War II conscientious objector, a Japanese American WWII vet, a mute, and a 90-day-wonder Officer Candidate School grad in charge.

A very good film! Realistic and with a great plot! It was made when the war was still on and showed a lot of realistic circumstances from the Korean war. Sam Fuller was a great director!

Wait a minute! Jeez, this is probably one of the best movies ever made about the Korean war. Yes, it can be boring to somone who has been exposed to everything from The hollywood hype of "Midway" to the gut wrenching cinematography of "Saving pvt Ryan" but put it in its place - we're talking '50s here. Watch "A Walk In the Sun" to appreciate this flick. It is B&W melodrama at its best. But then, I think Casablanca is a good movie.

This one cost less then 100.000 filming it .......they did a good job on this one that's for sure.( ok it's not a master piece but hey, i drive a old Mercedes and it brings me everywherewereiwant........lol )
