It was the winner of "Outstanding Film - Limited Release" at the 2009 GLAAD Media Awards, Best New Director and Favorite Narrative Feature at the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, and the People’s Choice Award for Best Feature at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival.

Shelter represents the feature directorial debut of Jonah Markowitz, who also wrote the screenplay.

Really great movie...definitely recommend it.
Jayiciously is right it's a really positive film, the 2 main actors are great.
Although I thought it ended a little bit weirdly...
Still, 4.5/5 maybe more.

That was an amazing movie!!! I loved it. Thats how everyone should be regardless of race, color, sexual orientation. We all live in the same world different ways. Let everyone be who they are and be happy. This movie has alot of positive influence....
