Heart of a Dog is a black-and-white Soviet two series movie based on Mikhail Bulgakov's story "Heart of a Dog", filmed in 1988.
Movie is filmed as black-and-white to give a feeling of an old film: it is set in Moscow not long after the October revolution.
It features Professor Filip Filippovich Preobrazhensky who implants a human pituitary gland and testicles into a stray dog named Sharik. Sharik proceeds to become more and more human as time passes, picks for himself the name Poligraf Poligrafovich Sharikov, makes himself a career with the "Moscow Cleansing Department responsible for eliminating vagrant quadrupeds (cats, etc.)", and turns the life in the professor's house into a nightmare until the professor reverses the procedure.
The main question is "Is anybody who is looking like a man is A REAL MAN?"
