Though the police believe they were shot, forensic psychiatrist Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne) believes otherwise, though his theories are quickly rejected. While tracking Alexi, Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) encounters Zimmerman, who may have what it takes to become her new protege. She introduces him to the top-secret base known as the Sanctuary, a place where she and her team holds a number of abnormals. After Alexi is eventually captured, Will reluctantly gives his new job a try and question Alexi.
