Leaving Tobruk just before the Germans capture it, Capt Anson and MSM Pugh attempt to reach Alexandria in their ambulance, along the way picking up two stranded nurses and a mysterious Dutch officer, with frequent encounters with the Afrika Corps. The leader of the team dreams of his ice cold beer when he reaches Alexandria, but the problems just won't go away. Starring John Mills, Sylvia Syms, Anthony Quayle and Harry Andrews.
